The idea of opening a Micro-pub has been burning slowly in my mind for about 4-5 years and now my dream has become a reality.

I found what I believed to be the ideal location in Shipston on Stour, a small unspoiled town in South Warwickshire with a very active community. Within 5 minutes of being inside the shop I knew this was the place for Thirst Edition Ltd Micro Pub. On the 16th of January 2018 I pcked up the keys and entered, it was a very exciting time. I did most of the work myself with the exception of the necessary tradespeople. My business model was to be like an ongoing "Beer Festival" with continouously new ales, save the more popular ones which would be repeated. We opened for business on March 30th "Good Friday" 2018. 7 years later we're still here and it's proved to be a great success. During these years we have have had nearly 2000 diferent cask ales, won numerous awards and raised over £26,000.00 for local causes, .

There are a rising number of people who enjoy the concept of Micropubs. No music, no gaming machines, and opportunity to talk rather then sit looking at our Smartphones.

 

Perhaps the motto should be ‘Talking, Not Texting’.
